In February H|L was awarded the interactive strategy and graphic user interface (GUI pronounced “gooey” and means look and feel) for the VisitMO.com site. After months of hard work and many new terms added to the H|L St. Louis vernacular, the first phase of the site is ready to go.

The site is a culmination of a number of the best site features available in the tourism segment, with an engaging GUI to bring them all together. In testing, the initial reaction to the site was outstanding. To see a synopsis of the testing reactionsThe GUI relies heavily on the scrapbook approach seen in the print and interactive executions of the advertising, complete with taped headers, handwritten copy and bold, stamp-like text treatments.

Other features to the new VisitMO.com site include a non-traditional navigation known as a “tag cloud”. The tag cloud is comprised of approximately 25 – 30 keywords focusing on Missouri tourism places and activities. A search bar is also utilized resulting in a familiar “Google-like” response for the user.
