I thought something was fishy with Nielsen’s reporting on web traffic…now I have confirmation it’s true.
Lesson to be learned clients and friends: It’s always good to have multiple web traffic tracking systems in place. We recently learned this the hard way when Google Analytics had a glitch and did not track/report any site traffic to millions of sites. Three of those were client sites. Luckily we were able to reconstruct the lost data and play the hero with Google playing the goat.
It may cost some money to get a robust, secondary and reliable web tracking system in place, but in the long run it’s well worth it. Here are a few we like:
