Ah, That New Website Smell

Visiting the state of Missouri is a rich, rewarding experience full of beautiful scenery and plenty of attractions for all travelers. Not coincidentally, the new VisitMO.com offers much of the same.

The Hoffman | Lewis interactive team just completed a launch of the completely made-over site this week. At first glance, you’ll notice a much cleaner, imagery-driven look to the new site. But the beauty of the site is much more than skin-deep.

The content—aka, the reason people visit—is much more accessible.

It’s also much deeper.

We’ve added regionalized searches, so the user can click a map on any section of the state to see what it has to offer. Feature callouts throughout the site showcase attractions by categories like Kid-Friendly Vacations, Shopping, Golf Courses and State Parks. This makes it easier to find where to go once you’ve decided what you’d like to do in Missouri. Speaking of, “Trip Ideas” also help usher in new visitors to the state by serving up options on how to plan your vacation.

There are other functional enhancements like a tab-style menu, allowing you to search however you like, and a section titled Deals and Discounts, featuring printable coupons and free Missouri destinations.

But reading about a website is about as fun as listening to mimes on the radio. (Well in that case it was fun, but you get the point.) So, visit the site and see what has kept many HLers busy for quite a while. It was a huge undertaking that will undoubtedly pay huge dividends for the state in the near future.

Just read this tidbit from the official press release:

“Travelers have many choices when considering where to take a trip,” said Katie Steele Danner, Director of Tourism. “We are confident this improved site will assist them in selecting Missouri as a destination where they can find diverse options for their enjoyment.”

Thanks. We are, too.
